CRAFTING IDENTITIES / CHROME HEARTS / 2023

The iconic JJ Dean jacket was reproduced three times the size, made from manilla paper incorporating Chrome Heart patterns and motifs. As the model was built, the paper creased where the leather would fold and bend. The imposing paper jacket is a reminder of why the JJ Dean made Chrome Hearts so famous - the skilled processes, the many hands, and the exquisite materials included in a product like the JJ Dean.
A minimal support structure was made from recycled scaffold and plywood. Spotlights were positioned to highlight the star of the show - the JJ Dean.
